 Oct. 27, 2011

Hi all!

The popularity of owls can not be driven by our familiarity with them.
If that was it, we'd have ROBINS  on everything! LOL

Isn't this little guy (gal?) cute?!

Just 12 x 12 inches and we've got a "get-it-made" kit ready for you.

Kit includes the pattern, fabric, rick-rack, DMC floss and the buttons used to embellish the embroidery!

We used some of my favorite new fabrics in the little OWL QUILT -
CURIO from BASIC GREY for MODA!  Interesting combination of colors, textures & motifs!

We LOVE BASIC GREY, so check out the entire department here:

It fits the 12 x 14 ACKFELD WIRE STAND, sold here:

These stands have removable SCROLL TOPS, and we sell a variety of tops that you can change out.  Stop in and ask to see these.

Here's another small TREE OWL QUILT shown on one of these stands.

Owls are everywhere.  Although I can count on one hand my personal encounters with owls who weren't in captivity!

One recent Sunday I was alone in the sunroom reading when I started hearing a weird sound.  I thought the neighbors were up to something.

I got up to investigate and was amazed to see nearly a dozen small owls sitting in the maple tree just outside my window!  They were sooo cute and looking right at me!  There were still a few hanging out when Randy returned minutes later, but we've never seen them since.  Internet research told me that only a few large ones really "hoot", but I definitely heard "whoooo-whoooo". :)

Check out the many owls found in our store here:

New fabrics include Robert Kaufman, Michael Miller, Alexander Henry, Marcus Brothers, Quilting Treasures & more.

Speaking of new fabrics, several of you asked for more information on the fabric used, and a better picture of, Mary's GIANT ZIG ZAG quilt that used

Marti Michell's FLYING GEESE RULER.  Ruler

This featured fabric is a brand-new line called NEW LONDON, from Marcus Brothers.  It too is quite fresh and fun, even without owls!  See the whole group here:

I did get pictures of the ZIG ZAG quilt posted a little bit after I published the newsletter, and they are there now, so check it out, including the printed-patchwork back.

One of my favorite things to make with the new fabric are TIDY TRAVEL PILLOW CASES!  Check out these VINTAGE SEWING cases made from THE DRESSMAKING COLLECTION.

All year, we've been working on QUILTS FOR FOSTER CHILDREN.  The quilts go to children in south-central Kansas, and are so appreciated.

If you have finished quilt(s) that you are willing to donate, please feel free to contact Georgeann or Anita for details or click here:

Georgeann is asking that IF you have picked up QUILT TOPS or QUILTS that you VOLUNTEERED TO FINISH, to please give her a call, so she can get a schedule worked out for delivery.

Please call 316-796-1712 to reach Georgeann, or call Anita at Charlotte's Bargain Fabric, 316-804-4660.  Thanks!

This month we're helping the KANSAS FOOD BANK, as their need has never been greater.  Thankful for what we have, let's pull together some RECIPES FOR LOVE.

Get out your favorite recipe that uses canned or non-perishable foods.  Bring all those ingredients to add to our COLLECTION BOX, and add your recipe to our communal RECIPES OF LOVE BOX!

At the end of the month, we'll draw from all entries (in-store and all who order on the web through Nov. 27th will be entered) and give away a very special SIMPLE SEASONS RECIPE BOX.  Stop in the store to check out the RECIPES OF LOVE collection as it grows and feel free to copy!

Visit CHARLOTTE'S Bargain Fabric in the CHISHOLM TRAIL MALL now for a great selection of BARGAIN FABRICS and inspiration.  New MAYWOOD FLANNELS just arrived.

There is also a KANSAS FOOD BANK donation box located at the Mall store, for your convenience.

BARGAINS & SPECIALS can be seen on the WEB on nearly 60 pages!

Try clicking on "view all", then scroll down the list for a quick overview.  There is lots of variety!

If you are active on FACEBOOK, I hope you'll "FRIEND" me on FACEBOOK!  I'm just starting to get into this! :)

You can search for me, CHARLOTTE M WOLFE, and then click on my SEW NATURAL FACEBOOK page or click here to go directly to it, I think!

It is fun to see what kind of things you are doing.  Just friend me, then post your projects to your own photo album and I get to see them!  Cool!  You'll be able keep an eye on our projects as well.

LaVerna just finished this darling new WINTER PILLOW.  Our kit includes front & back fabrics, DMC floss, Buttons & Ornaments.

Check out the tiny ginger-bread-men cookie cutters!

If WILDLIFE is your thing, you'll have to check out FULL MOON.

This reminds me of the tale of the FOX, who tricks the Gingerbread Boy into jumping on his back to swim across the river.  My next fabric features not the FOX, but the WOLF.

Feel the wonder of the wilderness in this stunning group by renowned artist, James Meger. The fabrics are wonderfully detailed in Megerís realistic style.

The FUR looks so thick, you'd think you could bury your fingers in it!   It is just finely printed cotton!

If FEATHERS are more to your liking, there are always those MAJESTIC WINGS, by another talented wildlife artist, Rod Frederick.

Check out the OWL in the lower right corner! :)

Have a great weekend & a safe Halloween.
