Hi all!
Living with Color.
I've been thinking a lot about COLOR in the past few weeks.
Randy & I decided to change the color of our house since it needed
to be re-painted. This was a big decision for us. We assume
we'll be living with this color for at least the next 10 years!
Tweaking it was important, but ate up a whole day I hadn't planned on. It is done now and we like our choice. I was very
grateful to the Benjamin Moore professionals and the painters for
their suggestions. The new color is 2 shades of green,
cream and brown. Sounds easy enough! LOL
Women in particular,
often seem concerned about what color they are wearing and how it
plays with the color of their skin, hair, eyes, etc. There are
many professionals with opinions on this subject. While I don't
subscribe to this completely, I have to admit, I do feel better
wearing certain colors and not others!
For instance, I would
not feel comfortable
in the bright, large floral that this model is wearing. I am making
the DIANE
KIMONO DRESS in softer florals from Andover's new group, GARDEN
PARTY. I like these a lot! It will be a great summer
dress!

A quilt is sort of like
that, only not. Most of us don't get photographed in bed with
our quilt but certainly feel better sleeping under particular quilts
(because of color?).
You can change the quilt on your bed every
night if you like. :) (Picturing storage for 365 quilts in
a bedroom makes me laugh, as well as the photo-session-in-bed idea!
LOL)
This beautiful new,
COLORFUL FLORAL is from artist Yuko Hasegawa. Wouldn't this be
fun to plan a quilt around?

Knowing when to turn to
a professional for help with color can be important. We are
always glad to help our customers with questions of color. That
is our number one request!
I think that the
popularity of making tote bags & table runners is due in large
part to people just wanting to play with colors and fabrics that they wouldn't necessarily decorate with or wear!
This purse pattern is
for a REVERSIBLE bag, so you can even choose two completely different
colorways that share one handle!
