Hi all!
Happy October! We
had a great QUILT SHOP HOP, this past weekend. More than 1000
people visited the store in 2-1/2 days. That was a lot! The energy was
so positive and exciting.
For more great shots of
our shop during the Hop, go to
http://www.thekansan.com/blogs/quiltingwithwendy
Now rested, we're still energized and moving things around in the store again.
LOL Don't be shy! You may need a guided tour next time you're in!
Even
though the leaves are just turning, and some days are still in the
upper 80s, we're focusing on Winter
& Christmas fabrics.

By popular demand, we've
once again cut kits
for CLEO'S DESIGNS ever popular NATIVITY pattern, featuring Mary,
Joseph and the baby Jesus surrounded by the easiest ever, rock-wall
looking background. Order today, and you could finish this easy
fusible-appliqué project in time to display for the Holidays.

Check out this great way
to add a decorative border to anything, like a delightful NATURE
PANEL from MODA!
Use Broadway Border printed
interfacing from Quiltsmart, and you'll get perfect, interesting
edges!
Make them as long as you like. Layer them many
times, or just once. Stitch down with a small zig-zag stitch, or
leave it lose as LaVerna did here.
LaVerna laid the red
fabric, backed with BROADWAY BORDER interfacing, on top of the green
border, pieced a 4-patch for each corner, and simply attached them to
a 24" wide x 42" long PANEL from Moda.

There are all sorts of ways to be
creative with BROADWAY BORDERS.

Mary just finished a
fast little quilt using another favorite "short-cut tool".
She started with Karen Snyder's
DOLLY DEAR
panel featuring little dresses in vintage prints. The border
& rick-rack around each dress are a printed part of the block!
Place your orders now
and we'll send kits
as soon as the panel is back in stock. Delivery expected in
about 10 days.

Mary simply
sashed the SQUARES using MARTI MICHELL's SASHING STAR POINT
template/ruler set to make them dance among the STARS!

I'm going to be showing
this SASHING STAR ruler
at 2nd Saturday, tomorrow, 10/8. Feel
free to come at 9 a.m., standing room only, for 30 minutes of sharing,
showing and info-mercialing by me! The presentation is FREE and you
are always welcome to join us.

A
little more CKQSHOP HOP WRAP-UP:
See all the QUILTS and a LIST OF
PRIZE WINNERS on the group's web site: http://www.centralkansasquiltshophop.4t.com
If you like my original
BLAZING KANSAS quilt, there are still a limited number of PRE-CUT
kits.
The quilt finishes
approximately 76 inches square.
I have cut all the
pieces needed for the inner BLAZING STAR border and the sashings. All
you have to do is sew! Included are 3 yards of the THEME
FABRIC. This is enough to cut an 8-1/2 inch wide outer border
& 3 inch wide binding.
If you like my quilt,
and want to finish the 10 blocks that you collected during the Shop
Hop as I did, you can order it now here:
http://www.sewnatural.net/nli.asp?iid=29476
Note: I used the
10th block in the corners of the border. It was perfect for
"turning the corner", when divided into 4 equal parts!
A special "shout out" thanks to
my persistent daughter Lily, who finally has me participating on Facebook.
Lily designed and launched the CHARLOTTE'S SEW NATURAL
pages, and we'd
love it if you'd "friend" me, and keep up with us there too.
Just search CHARLOTTE'S
SEW NATURAL on FACEBOOK, and we should pop up. At least,
that's what they tell me. :)
In
addition to all our internet activities, we are looking forward to seeing
you here in Newton in person real soon!
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Wolfe
